.My Little Smartie.
Yesterday she was watching a movie in her room and playing with toys. I went up to check on her and make sure that she didn't have to use the potty. I find her laying on the floor with a stick of gum...half of it gone.
I stood there for a second wondering how to handle the situation. I don't let her have gum anymore due to a few incidents of it getting in her hair, on clothing, etc. I decided to calmly ask her where she got it from. Her reply was "Lily's Room". I proceeded to ask her again saying it couldn't have been in Lily's room, but she still insisted that is where she got it.
I decided to just let her have the gum and remind her a) not to swallow it and b) that we don't play with gum. If I found it on her clothes she wouldn't get gum again. She is definitely smart enough to know the consequences of her actions. Needless to say, I didn't have to worry about her getting gum everywhere.
Later in the day I went upstairs into one of the bedrooms where we have all of Aaron's office stuff stored. As I walked in, laying on the floor was an empty pack of EXTRA gum. That room used to be Lily's room up until about 3 days ago when I decided to move her into a different room so I could turn that one in to an office.
MYSTERY SOLVED! Brookie wasn't lying...ha ha.
We were all hanging out together as a family watching "I Love You, Man". I was on the LoveSac with Lily and Brookyln cuddled up. Out of no where, Brooklyn reaches over, grabs my hand and places it on her face. She looks right at me and says "Mommy, you're my best friend." in the sweetest voice. Aw! Too bad she won't feel like that in a few years.
